I am currently working as Director of Music for the Windsor Learning Partnership. This basically means that I am running the two Senior School Departments in Windsor, but I am also starting to work more closely with other schools in our academy partnership.
I am based day to day at The Windsor Boys’ School where I have worked as Head of Music for 13 years. I also spend time at Windsor Girls School where I mainly oversee the extra curricular programme. Previously I worked as an artist in residence at TWBSand before that I attended the school as a student. Music in Windsor has been a huge part of my life and I have been part of Windsor Boys’ School since I was 14.
Outside of school life I run a community choir for adults, a First Schools Choir and a Church Choir. I work with local musical theatre & opera societies where I take on the role of Musical Director or take rehearsals for colleagues. Musical Theatre is a passion and I have conducted orchestras and acted as MD for a number of shows:
Kiss Me Kate, The Boy Friend, Carmen, HMS Pinafore, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Les Miserables, Guys & Dolls, The Pajama Game, Sweeney Todd, Calamity Jane and Singin’ in the Rain. I am currently working on the November 2017 production of Beauty & The Beast.
I have also led several international performance tours with my school orchestra and choir included:
Beijing, Prague, Paris, Belgium.
I am proud to say that the music department has been nominated for a national award for the last 4 years running – Music Department of the Year.
Working in music education is my life and I am so lucky to get to work with amazing young people who have wonderfully supportive parents.
I am married to Amy who I met whilst at school – we were both in the school musical! We have two boys Aidan & Fletcher and they both love musicals – my youngest particularly enjoyed Sweeney!
